Veteran Affairs of the New York Harbor
Chef Charles L. Smith, better known as Chef Chip is a 2001 Graduate of the Culinary Institute of America. Born and raised in Harlem, NY, Chef was introduced to the culinary field at an early age by his God Father. His professional career spans over 30 years where he has worked in several production kitchens, high end hotels such as the Ritz Carlton, and several restaurants such as Morton’s Steakhouse.

Chef Chip pivoted and entered into Health care where he served as the General Manager for over 10 years at Food Service Partners, which is under the Health & Hospital umbrella. He is an entrepreneur, having owned a restaurant in Harlem, catering company and is the owner of Culinary Logistic Solutions, where he teaches cooking classes and provides educational presentation on culinary arts. Chef Chip is currently the Executive Chef for Veteran Affairs of the New York Harbor where he manages the Culinary Program for three of the four Veteran facilities in New York City.
Charles has been a Mason since 2002, and Past Master of Lewis Hayden Lodge #69, Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of NY, a proud brother of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and a member of the Order of the Feather, Pen & Scroll, just to name a few.

Charles is a wonderful husband to LaTonya K. Smith and an incredible father to his son Mason.
