Austin Smith is proud graduate of White Plains High School, where he has distinguished himself as an academic achiever, student leader, and community advocate. With a GPA of 3.55, Austin has balanced academic rigor with an unwavering commitment to service, while preparing for a future in healthcare.

This fall, Austin will attend Hampton University, where he will major in Physician Assistant Studies—a career path inspired by his passion for medicine and his desire to increase healthcare access in underserved communities. Austin’s leadership and volunteerism have been evident throughout his high school career. He has served in various roles including team captain, student mentor, and active member in various extracurricular programs. His involvement has spanned from sports teams to school leadership councils, reflecting his commitment to teamwork, discipline, and positive peer engagement. Equally impressive is his dedication to community service. Austin has volunteered with local organizations to support youth mentoring, community clean-ups, and health awareness programs. His contributions have consistently demonstrated maturity, integrity, and a desire to uplift others—especially young men of color navigating similar paths.

Austin’s strong academic record, service mindset, and vision for the future earned him the Margaret Harris Scholarship, which recognizes students who exemplify scholarship and character. He enters college with a clear sense of purpose: to make a tangible impact in the lives of others through healing, leadership, and advocacy.
